There is a reason that Matt Akenhead uses the moniker, The Jaded Dog Trainer. With over 40 years of experience working with dogs, in some capacity, Matt came to realize that the majority of problems that dog owners face is caused by a misunderstanding of the breed. Instead of "correcting" behaviors of the dog, Matt explains to owners that the behaviors are often exactly what that dog was bred for. It was through this repetitious cycle that the alterego was born.

While a dog knows exactly what they were bred for, owners often perform minimal research on a breed before buying a dog. And yet, generations of selective breeding and evolution has given each breed a specific, lifelong purpose. This natural behavior isn’t just a switch that can be turned on and off.
