You want to know what really grinds the Jaded Dog Trainer's gears? ... When a dog trainer, handler, or owner is being bad.

Typically by praising their dog rather than disciplining their dog, for undesired behavior. What really REALLY grinds his gears is when the dog is being bad (but less bad) and they are praised for the fact that they are "better" than they once were (although still not behaving in a desired manner). This action, of "rewarding" your dog for improvements, only encourages the bad behavior, and confuses the dog into not understanding what behavior is desired.

It’s simple, the dog does good, and is obedient, they deserve a reward. If they are not responding to the desired command or behavior, they should (at the very least) NOT be rewarded! Wait for your dog to be good, before you praise them.
