Ben Harris' latest wooden boat has been launched! Earlier – in the spring of 2022 – the 34foot gaff cutter yacht named CONSTANCE was launched in Gweek Quay Boatyard, on the Helford river near Falmouth in Cornwall.

Watch the wellattended launch in this video which is narrated by Simon Wisker, who commissioned this traditional newbuild yacht.

In this video, Simon lays out the design of CONSTANCE, which he developed with Ben Harris and naval architect Jack Gifford. He discusses the features of the Falmouth quay punt CURLEW and deepdrafted working boats, which allow for a voluminous interior and seakindly characteristics.

Simon also explains getting involved and handson in building CONSTANCE and what it was like working alongside Ben Harris and his team.

Watch as CONSTANCE glides through the waters off Pendennis Point and the Carrick Roads in Falmouth, Cornwall.

Ben Harris & Co Wooden Boats use traditional boatbuilding techniques to build (new) sailing yachts and traditional boats, restore motor and sailing yachts, including smaller craft – dingies and yacht tenders – as well as making masts and spars in their workshops.
