I buy my meat from a local farm. If you want to buy animal products (meat, dairy, eggs, etc.) from happy, ethically raised animals, you should support your local family farmers. These are some of the things that are most commonly stated in conversations about animal welfare and the ethics of consuming animal products because these are something that consumers are told by the animal agriculture industry to do, against the rise of veganism and vegan alternative products today. In this video, we will take a look at whether that is good enough or not.

What is Humanewashing?
Greenwashing is commonly used by large corporations to downplay their environmental impact of their products/services. Similarly, humane washing is a tactic used by the animal agriculture industry to convince their consumers that their animals are raised ethically, and to reduce consumer concerns when buying their products that contains pain, suffering, exploitation and deaths of innocent animals that people care about (by the use of words like freerange, cagefree, humanely raised, high welfare, grassfed, organic, local, locally sourced, family owned/family run/family farmed, etc.) Animal welfare is not to protect the animals. If you want to make ethical choices, you can choose vegan.
