All right, today on this 2012 Acura MDX were going to install part #: 75614 from DrawTite. All right, this is what the hitch looks like once its installed on the vehicle. Next well give you some measurements thatll help you out in selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be 16 and a quarter inches and from the center of the hitch pinhole to the edge of the bumper will be three and three quarter inches. Now Ill go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. First thing that we need to do is go ahead and lower the spare tire and get it out of our way.

Then next well go ahead and lower the exhaust by removing the two rearmost rubber hangers. Well spray them down with some lubricant making them a little easier to remove. Now were done with the rubber hangers on the driver side. Now well move over to the passenger side and repeat the same process. Then well go ahead and unbolt the heat shields.

Were finished removing the heat shield on the driver side, now were going to repeat the same process over on the passenger side. Before we put our hitch up well take a moment to clean up the threads. Now since this is a brand new vehicle it shouldnt be much of a problem, but well spray it down with some lubricant and then use a toothbrush to help clean up the threads. Well be using part #: 814092. Now the older the vehicle more time thisll take.

Well clean up the threads and then put the hitch bolt in to make sure it threads in okay. Now, the older a vehicle gets the more dirt and debris gets contained in there and you may have to use a thread tap over time. All right, next we can go ahead and raise the hitch in position. Now, its a good idea to have an extra set of hands to help you do this while you install the hardware. Once all the bolts are installed we can go ahead and tighten them down evenly on both sides and then torque the bolts as specified in the instructions.

Then we can install the heat shields and then the exhaust. Then the spare tire can be reinstalled. And with that, thatll finish it for our install of part #: 75614 from DrawTite on our 2012 Acura MDX.
