1. Do Not Come Close To The Owner

Most cats
stay away from people who are untrustworthy
and tend to stay on guard while keeping a distance of about 2m.

If you purposely reduce such distance or move closer,
cats may attack you or run away.

If your cat does not run away or seem bothered
when you move closer to him/her,
it means that he/she does not feel threatened by you.

Rather than trying to get close quickly,
you should take some time
and let your cat approach you.

2. Threaten The Owner

When cats feel that they are in danger,
they will display aggressive behavior to the other party.

If they are scowling with their ears raised up,
it is best not to get close to them.

Cats who are especially wary
will take longer to trust their owner,
but it is important not to be nervous and keep calm.

3. Run Away Or Hide

Cats will hide themselves
when they feel they are in danger.

If a cat hides in the corner
when the owner comes near,
it could mean that he/she does not trust the owner.

Pulling the cat out from the corner forcefully
will worsen the relationship with him/her,
so you should wait for him/her to come out on his/her own.

4. Be Nervous

If a cat who is with the owner
seems nervous or scared,
it means that he/she is not yet ready to open up.

It is best to give ample time and wait
until the cat opens up on his/her own.

Cats will feel at ease
once they believe that nothing scary will happen
when they are with their owner.

If you have an awkward relationship with your cat,
you should try to make lots of good memories with him/her.

It is especially difficult to turn around a cat
who has closed off their mind,
so you should take a lot of time to get close to your cat.

If you don’t yet have a trusting relationship with your cat,
you should not heavily discipline or train him/her.
