1. Guard Their Home

When cats are left alone at home,
they may keep themselves quite busy.

Using their fantastic sense of hearing and smell,
they will check to see if their territory is safe
and if there are any intruders.

2. Look Out The Window

The space by a big window is
cats’ favorite place.

As they like being warm,
they are able to enjoy the warm sunshine
by the window.

Cats who are by the window
will stare outside
like how humans watch TV.
They will spend time
watching flying birds or insects,
or people walking by.

3. Sleeping

Cats who have wild instincts
will preserve their energy
by getting enough sleep
in order to go hunting.

Even domestic cats who do not need to hunt
still spend most of the time during the day
sleeping.

Another reason why cats take naps is
to save up the energy until their owner comes back home
so that they can play together.

4. Mess Around

When the owner is not home,
cats roam around the house freely.

They may sometimes open up the snack drawers
or rip up tissues around the house.

If there are things that they weren’t able to do when the owner is home,
they may mess around when the owner is away.

5. Prepare To Greet The Owner

As cats know the concept of time,
they may get ready to greet the owner
when it’s time for him/her to come home.

They’ll come to the entrance when they hear the owner’s footsteps
or wait for him/her in front of the door.

If you open the front door too wide
when you return home,
your cat may run out the door.

Even if you are glad to see your cat who came to greet you,
you should ensure that there is enough distance from the door
before saying hi.
