Where and How

1. Face and Head

When you pet your cat’s head or face, your hand can stimulate many nerves and make her feel good. To do so, gently move your hand in the same direction the fur lies. Be careful not to stroke her too strongly because it’s a sensitive area.

2. Chin and Neck

Cats often scratch their chin or neck area because these areas itch easily.They may rub it on the corners of furniture to mark the areas or to relieve itching. So, when you stroke your cat's chin or neck, she can purr.

3. Back

Cats often scratch their backs. So, please stroke this area with a brush. If your cat stretches her front paws and lifts up her butt, it means she feels happy.

4. Cheek and Brow

Your cat may like that you gently scratch her brow with your nails. You can

use a toothbrush to brush the area. She may squint and like it. Also, she can be satisfied if you gently press outward on her cheek with your thumbs.

5. Butt and Tailbone

Cats are hard to scratch their back themselves. So, if you scratch your cat’s back, she will love it. Gently stroke her back in the same direction the fur lies and pet above the tail.

Things To Bear In Mind

Cats change their moods easily. Even if your cat likes to be petted as usual, she can be annoyed all of a sudden. If she avoids you or pushes your hand as if she wants you to stop, just stop. If you don’t, she can bite you or avoid your touch going forward.
