Smaller, crustier, denser and sweeter than their New York counterpart, Montreal bagels are boiled in honey water and baked in a woodfire oven, giving them a flavour that is widely considered superior to that of the New York bagel. The only real question is, which iconic Mile End bakery makes the best bagels in Montreal Fairmount or SaintViateur?
