East Timor (Timor Leste), a country many people have never heard of. It's Asia's newest and least visited country. Founded in 2002 the country is situated on the eastern part of Timor Island, whereas the western part belongs to Indonesia. After 400 years of Portuguese colonialization, East Timor became part of Indonesia in 1975. After a horrendous independence war the country eventually became independent in 2002, becoming Asia's youngest country.
East Timor is a tropical paradise embedded between Sulawesi island in the north and Australia in the south. The country is one of the poorest nations in Asia as well as one of the most untouched and secretive countries in the region.

I am travelling to the capital city of Dili, and explore the bustling streets and surroundings of the city. I meet some of the most heartwarming and welcoming people on this remote island
