We’ve talked about LOOP and now we’re taking you with us!!! Free chicken food all week long!

Follow
The Frugal Farmstead

Join us as we pick up our LOOP load, we pick up hundreds of pounds of feed every Sunday from the grocery store to feed our livestock.
Yes it’s a time investment but costs us nothing other than fuel and during chick season allows us another region to sell chicks in without having to make special trips.
We get just about anything the grocery store carries, primarily produce, bakery and deli goods but we also get seasonal items, meat, dry goods, canned goods and even cleaning supplies.
We do have to sign waivers which means we have to follow CFIA regulations when feeding our livestock and cannot use any LOOP goods for human consumption.
We have videos on how we best utilize everything we get from pelletizing the breads, grains and flour that we get to running the produce through the wood chipper. Everything gets blended together and NOTHING is left out when it comes to produce as nothing is in enough quantity to cause any toxin buildups or illness. We’ve been feeding Loop for a year now and our animals are all thriving on it!
The chicks LOVE their hummus and yogurt in conjunction with unlimited chick starter
