Burma campaign, the oftenforgotten chapter of the Second World War, began with the Japanese invasion in January 1942, following their daring offensive on Malaya, Dutch East Indies and Thailand, aiming to take control of entire SouthEast Asia and the region's resources and raw materials much needed for Japans war efforts.
