Like many grouse species, Sharptailed males gather on leks before sunrise to display. You can hear their feet rapidly stamping on the ground. Males are all trying to outperform each other. Activity really "steps up" when a female arrives. Native Americans often mimicked the Sharptailed dance. These birds were filmed in eastern Idaho.
