In this video we go full unhinged cottagecore and make a dress inspired by the checked gowns in 1995's Sense and Sensibility. Follow the poor relation as I sew outside, catch a contagious illness, and meet a plethora of country dogs in my tumbledown cottage.

This is part vlog, part tutorial using the Laughing Moon 126 pattern to make a Regency apronfront gown out of a secondhand bedsheet. Because you deserve to be the main character even if you're the poor relation!

*A serious note about Covid. Though I gloss over it in this video, Covid is still around, very contagious, and can be very dangerous. Thanks to my three vaccine doses, my case was mild, but who knows what the longterm impact will to my health will be. Keep wearing masks! (I got it after spending unmasked time with one close friend who recently traveled). Vaccines reduce your chance of severe symptoms, but masks are still the best line of defense against getting it in the first place. My mom and I both masked after I contracted Covid and she never got it despite us living under the same roof. I care about you, dear viewer, so I beg of you don't get it if you can help it!
