Join me for a walk of the historic seaside village of Seahouses, formerly known as North Sunderland, and before then just Sunderland. First developed a mile inland, this seaside settlement boomed in the 18th century on the back of the fishing trade, while tourism to the local Northumberland coast has sustained the village into the modern day.

As we walk around Seahouses, we pass a number of interesting landmarks, including North Sunderland War Memorial, Seafield Park, The Rescue, Seahouses Lifeboat Station, North Sunderland Harbour, The Bamburgh Castle Inn, The Olde Ship Inn, an old wartime sea mine, Main Street, Seahouses Methodist Church, St. Aidan's RC Church, North Street, The Schooner Inn, The Black Swan Inn, Swallow Fish fishmongers' (the birthplace of the kipper?), and North Sunderland Harbour once again.
