Have you ever wondered how to repair and restore a vintage antique WWII military issued machete? Do you know how to sand and polish steel? Do you know how to make a new handle for a sword, knife, or machete? In this week's repair and restoration video, we do all of the above in an ASMR style video using only hand tools as we restore a rusty WWII era British military issued AF 0100 machete that is bent and in need of a new handle and sheath.

I removed the broken rotten handle and rusted pins before using vinegar and degreaser to clean the steel. I then sanded and polished the blade for several days using various grits of sandpaper until I removed the rust pits and gave the steel a nice mirrorlike shine. I then used an old piece of oak hardwood flooring I had left over from a home project to fabricate a new handle. I bought a vintage, original sheath online to complete the project.
