Quiet Vlog | Planting Garlic | Hand Quilting | Making Vegan Kimchi | Veganuary

It's January, or Veganuary if you're signed up, and in today's quiet vlog I wanted to share my thoughts about Veganuary and a couple of tips for the vegan curious. In this week's video I also show you the progress I've been making with my natural dye quilt, bring you along to the allotment where we're planting garlic and tending to our compost, and show you how I make vegan kimchi and plan how to cook a vegan meal from scratch each day with wholefoods ingredients that we grow ourselves or purchase at the outdoor market.

If you're new to my channel, hi! My name is Stéphanie and I live in England. Here on Eighteen and Cloudy I share peaceful, slow paced, 'slow living' videos about living a simple, sustainable, vegan lifestyle in the city. My videos feature my organic allotment which I share with my husband and on which we grow fruit, vegetables, and flowers. I also share my hobbies and the things I make, together with vegan recipes and my cooking and baking.

I don't believe in dogma, so although I've been vegan since 2005 for animal welfare reasons first and foremost and care passionately about animals and environment alike, I don't believe there's ever one 'right' way to live and all other paths are flawed. Veganism works for me based on my views on the equality of human and nonhuman animals and my ability to cook from scratch every day with wholefoods ingredients. It works for my husband who competes in distance running as a club runner and leads a very active lifestyle, and it can work for many people, but I recognise that it's not for everybody, for all sorts of reasons, and that's okay.

If you're curious about learning how to make some or all of your meals vegan, or live a vegan lifestyle in general, I'd love you to join me here on Eighteen and Cloudy so that I can show you how I do things. Perhaps you might find a kernel of an idea to take away and try for yourself, or watching one of my videos might inspire you to create something entirely your own as you experiment with eating and using fewer animal products or giving them up entirely.
