Peaceful Slow Life Vlog | Growing Dahlias | Making Vegan Korean Style Food

Eighteen and Cloudy

Hello and welcome back to this week's quiet vlog. Join us on a quiet Sunday down at the allotment. This week I've been tending to my dahlias, potting up and moving young plants down to the greenhouse, and transplanting seedlings to their final positions in our vegetable and flower beds. We are joined this week by one of the neighbourhood cats who came to visit whilst we were gardening, as well as the usual chorus of birdsong and neighbourhood children playing in their back gardens.

This week's recipe is for my version of vegan Korean style food, with red rice, steamed vegetables, crispy tofu, and battered vegetables with a spicy dipping sauce. I am not Korean, I'm English, but I love Korean food and like to try and make Korean style recipes in my own kitchen. The recipes I make are obviously not authentic, but I share my meals with respect and admiration for traditional Korean cooking, particularly the 'Korean temple food' tradition which uses lots of fresh vegetables.

If you're new to my channel, hi! My name is Stéphanie and I live in England. Here on Eighteen and Cloudy I share peaceful 'slow life' vlogs about how my husband and I try to live simply, sustainably, and follow a vegan lifestyle. My videos feature the allotment we tend together, on which we grow food and flowers. I also share vegan recipes and ideas in my videos, as well as various craft projects. I love old fashioned heritage crafts, and love to share my adventures in learning new things and making useful things with my hands. If any of that sounds like something you enjoy too, I'd love to have you join me. Subscribe for a weekly quiet vlog, released each Thursday, as well as bonus episodes featuring tutorials and videos on the themes of gardening, cooking, and sustainability.
