spring in my cottage - how I stay sane in an insane world

Hi everyone!

I hope you're all doing well!
Today we're chatting about how to shelter oneself from all the distractions, and how to focus on one's true purpose.

I got inspired by this quote from the Bhagavad Gita:
"It is far better to discharge one’s prescribed duties, even though faultily, than another’s duties perfectly. Destruction in the course of performing one’s own duty is better than engaging in another’s duties, for to follow another’s path is dangerous." 3.35

When I'm not conscious of it, I find my mind drifting towards the news, or politics, or goingson in my local community, or what others are doing. While sometimes it may be relevant, most of the time it's not and it halts my ability to perform my responsibilities with attention and care.

My meditation recently is to
1. Shelter myself from things that are out of my control.
2. Consciously focus on my personal duties and what I am meant to contribute to the world and my community and try to do those things in an excellent way.

Hope you're all enjoying the spring weather

Best wishes,
Sukanti
