I designed this luxury outdoor cat enclosure for my rag doll cats and in this video I share some pet enrichment ideas which are creative and affordable. I was able to make use of several materials and products I already had lying around at home or that people were giving away / throwing out.

Products I already had lying around at home which I used / recycled or sourced for free were:

Left over wood primer
Left over fence paint
Left over H20 liquid mask paint
Left over gold spray paint
Drinks display cabinet being discarded
Gold mirror given to me
Small round kids table
Picture of cats I painted
Macrame hangers and curtain tie back from previous projects
Shelves left over from kids bedrooms
Left over astro turf being discarded
Topiary balls from my garden
Fairy lights from my Christmas tree
Wood left over from kids bunk beds no longer required, from a kitchen kick board left over and from old building materials
Plastic pipe left over from building site


Here are the products I bought:

Plum slate chippings £4 a bag from B&M (x4)
Solar powered outdoor lights £10 box from Aldi
Artificial ivy £5 from IKEA (x4)
Outdoor paint for wood colour matched to “railings” from Farrow and Ball pallette £30 from local paint store
Jute rope from Amazon £10 for 10m x 10mm (x2)
