A beautiful cat, the Oriental is also highly intelligent and requires a parent who will return this breed’s trademark dedication.

The Siamese and the Oriental might differ in color, but beneath the skin they are identical. The Oriental is talkative and opinionated. He will tell you exactly what he thinks, in a loud, raspy voice, and he expects you to pay attention and act on his advice. Orientals are extremely fond of their people. They like to be “helpful” and will follow you around and supervise your every move. When you are sitting down, an Oriental will be in your lap, and at night he will be in bed with you, probably under the covers with his head on the pillow.

Do not get an Oriental if living with a chatty busybody would drive you insane. On the other hand, if you enjoy having someone to talk to throughout the day, an Oriental can be your best friend. Just be sure you have time to spend with this demanding and social cat. Orientals do not like being left alone for long periods, and if you work during the day it can be smart to get two of them so they can keep each other company.

The Oriental is highly intelligent, agile and athletic, and loves to play. Keep his busy brain active with puzzle toys and his body exercised with teaser toys that he can chase and a big cat tree he can climb. He is fully capable of opening doors and drawers or rifling through your purse in search of something interesting or shiny to play with. Never leave him without any form of entertainment, or you will likely come home to find that he has reprogrammed your DVR to record only nature shows or at the very least decided that your toilet paper rolls and tissue boxes look better empty. If you're looking for a beautiful and highly intelligent feline, you can get them from these Oriental Cat Breeders.

SanToi Siamese and Orientals.

SanToi Siamese and Orientals became a CFA registered cattery in June of 1968. They strive for health, type, and temperament in their cats as well as striving for conformity to the CFA breed standard in their cats. They have dedicated over 50 years to CFA and their beloved cats. They are very honored to have received the Lifetime Achievement Award for their work with the Siamese Breed at the Siamese Breed Council Breakfast last 2009. They'd like to thank the breed council for their award and honor!

Simply O.

They fell in love with the Oriental Shorthair breed by going to their first cat show in 2005. Their first oriental was a male, Joshua. Choosing a male was unusual for them, as their preference has always been female animals. Orientals love their humans, and since they were never blessed with children, the fit was perfect. Their first breeding female was 7th Heaven’s SongofAutumn. While their cattery name is new, they have bred for several years. They love the breed. They love their humans and each other. They are often found in the “oriental pile”. That pile can be found in a chair, the couch, or your lap!

Their cats and kittens are raised without cages. Their preference is to have one litter at a time if at all possible. Kittens are raised with much love and care and stay with their mother until they have been vaccinated. They then work with them so that they can transition to their forever home with as little stress as possible to them as well as their new owners. They like taking them, one at a time, across the street. They go on car rides in hopes that they can become comfortable. All of this seems to result in a welladjusted kitten and positive comments from their new forever home!

Hotz Cat Cattery.

Hotz Cats is a small cattery based in Benton, Kentucky. They raise Colorpoint, Orientals, and Siamese cats. They work within the Cat Fancier Association (CFA). At Hotz Cats, they strive to raise healthy, loving, and social kittens. The kittens are handled from birth and raised in their home beside their children and parents. This makes for wonderfully interactive cats.
