People with NPD often have an exaggerated sense of selfimportance, a sense of entitlement, and a tendency to exploit others for their own gain. However, it's crucial to note that diagnosing NPD requires a comprehensive assessment by a qualified mental health professional.

One reason why the term "narcissist" is overused is because certain narcissistic traits are relatively common in society. In today's individualistic culture, there's a societal emphasis on selfpromotion, achievement, and success, which can sometimes blur the line between healthy selfesteem and narcissism.
