We all love a great trilogy, and the last 50 years of cinema have provided us with some epic ones. Trilogies like The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future, the Before trilogy, and The Godfather rank among the best of all time.

However, there have also been some almosttrilogies that sadly didn’t come to fruition, mostly because of bad sequels that didn’t live up to the original.

Sequels aren't always necessary, but studios often can’t resist the lure of a trilogy. Never say never in Hollywood, but here are some movie trilogies that won’t ever be finished.
