Rotten Tomatoes are a good indicator of whether a movie is worth a watch but it shouldn’t be the only basis to determine a movie's watchability. Movies communicate different things to different people one person’s Citizen Kane is another's The Room.

Critics serve a purpose and play an important part in the moviemaking business, but that doesn’t mean they get it right all the time. Movies like Blade Runner and The Shining were initially not wellreceived by critics. Go figure.
