Japanese Bobtail is a distinct breed yet I came to discover that BOTH parents of this Japanese Bobtail cat are "normal" cats with long tails. Their daughter bears all characteristics of a Jap. Bobtail: not only the short tail, but the relatively longer rair legs as well as a very gentle sounding meow sound. A friendly nature and good personal character is also a trait Japanese Bobtails supposedly have just like this one year old calico kitten.
In Japan the socalled "maneki neko" is portrayed on a calico bobtail just like this cat.
