Sam is proving that he is definitely okay with women, but has bad history with men. He's coming right out of his bunker to rub up to and be petted by Jess, other cats in the room or no. He's fine with Jess. Once John comes in though, he's back to the bunker, and slinking from one bunker to the other. He is ready to be a brave boy but not THAT brave, yet. He'll get there.

Meet Sam, John's fostertoadopt older gentleman. Sam is eleven years old, and has stage two kidney disease minor arthritis, and no teeth. Sam has been on his own since the kind lady who found him and his bonded friend Lucky in 2014 passed away, and then Lucky did also. He is shy, taking a while to settle in to new situations. His desire for attention is at odds with his shyness. He is reportedly nonreactive to other cats, being completely unfazed by their hissing upon first meeting, for instance. He is possibly extra skittish around men. He had not drawn any interest by adopters until now.
