Margie came to us as a stray with a leg injury, likely from being hit by a car. It was evident from the moment she walked that she wasn’t putting pressure on her back right leg. An exam and xrays were performed by our medical team and it was determined a surgical consult from a veterinary specialist was needed.

Luckily, there was an opening today, May 16, for her to see a BoardCertified Veterinary Surgeon for a consult at BluePearl Pet Hospital.

Little Margie has a fracture to her right rear femur and her hips are misaligned. She will need a surgery to have a pin or plate inserted to stabilize the leg. This will allow her to regain full use of that leg and will eliminate her pain.

Margie needs to have this surgery done immediately, as the veterinary surgeon said that the injury is still in the stage where a repair can be done and full healing can occur. The estimate is approximately $6,000.

The surgeon has kindly offered to add us to her full schedule to be able to get the surgery done as soon as possible, which will allow the best possible outcome for Margie.
