Question from a follower
"I don't understand why you are instructed to lower the front with the jack after you have secured the stabilizing jacks. This will with out a doubt put more pressure on them. The are not support jacks and all instructions for them is to NOT do this."

My response
"Great question and I was thinking the same thing when I read on how to set up the trailer with the JT Strong Arms. But I gave it a lot of thought why its okay or not to do prior to and after setting up this way.

I know the stabilizer jacks are not designed to lift the trailer and to only stabilize it buy just lowering them to the ground. If you think about it you are not using the stabilizer jacks to lift the trailer, you are just applying more a little more weight on them. If you tried lifting the trailer with the jacks then I would see the jacks stressing out trying to do so. With them in place and then weight applied to them is much easier on the jack.

Thinking about this deeper......by putting more weight on the stabilizing jacks with the JT Strong Arms it helps with weight distribution by sharing some of the additional weight since there is more points of contact on the frame instead of just on the stabilizing jacks (the weight is shared).

Plus the jacks I installed are rated at 5,000 lbs per 2 jacks or 2,500 lbs per jack making them be able to handle 10,000 lbs of stabilization. Our trailer is only 6,000 lbs fully loaded. Also some of the weight on the stabilizing jacks is decreased since the weight is shared with the axles."
