VOA Learning English

Dan Novak and Ashley Thompson host today's Learning English show.

First: For future humans to survive long periods on the planet Mars, growing food there is a must. Host Dan Novak reports about a NASA research project that grew crops in simulated Martian regolith, a soil with no organic matter.

Then: Music recordings produced on plastic discs are popular again in Brazil. Dan Friedell and Gena Bennett report about the increasing interest in vinyl records in Brazil and other places too!

Next: The American space agency NASA has completed a test that sent data over 226 million kilometers in space, using highspeed transfer technology. The method can send large data files, highquality images and videos over very long distances. Bryan Lynn has that story for The LE Science and Technology Report. Then, Dan Novak welcomes Bryan to the show for a brief chat about his report.

Finally: The LE Lesson of the Day. Andrew Smith and Jill Robbins base their instruction on the LE video series Let's Learn English. We get "busy" today with an exploration of our hopes and dreams and how we talk about them!

Dan and Ashley close the show.
