howdy!
I hope your hands are clean and tummies are rumbling because today we're making Korean Fried Chicken Wings with a Soy Honey Garlic sauce. I crave chicken wings on a daily so it was a no brainer for me to show you how to make them! These wings are absolutely delicious. Coated in a sweet and savory sauce and topped with sesame seeds and toasted garlic. That could honestly be my last meal ever. The only way I'm getting through all the craziness is by stuffing my mouth haha so come join me.

If you think I should make this a reoccurring series let me know what you're craving and maybe I'll try to make that!!!

***RECIPE***

Soy Honey Garlic Korean Fried Chicken

Ingredients
2 ½ lbs chicken wings (12 pieces)
½ tbsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
1 cup potato starch for coating
Oil to fry (vegetable, peanut, canola)
Sauce:
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup honey
2 tbsp. Korean rice syrup (optional; sub honey)
2 tbsp. minced garlic
3/8 cup or 3 oz. water

Directions:
1. Dry brine by adding salt to chicken pieces and refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours or for best results overnight.
2. Squeeze chicken with paper towel to remove any liquid or moisture and lay on paper towel lined tray.
3. Season lightly with salt and pepper and set to the side.
4. In a medium sized bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice syrup, garlic, and water. Stir to dissolve. Taste sauce and adjust to your own liking.
5. Put potato starch in a bowl and coat chicken wings. Make sure to press the wings in to get a tight coating and shake off any excess before setting to the side.
6. Heat oil on high in a large pan or pot with enough oil to cover the wings. After about 810 minutes check oil using a wooden chopstick or spoon. Bubbles should form around meaning it is ready to fry.
7. Carefully lower coated wings into the oil. Move them around to avoid sticking. Lower temperature to medium high if needed. The first fry will be for about 10 minutes.
8. Take out the wings, strain oil of any debris. Increase the heat for another 510 minutes. Fry a second time at the hotter temperature. Once they have reached a golden brown and are crunchy, drain on paper towel.
9. In a small saucepan, bring sauce to a boil on a medium high heat. Make sure to stir constantly to prevent burning. Reduce heat to low and let sit for another 5 minutes.
10. Toss fried wings with sauce in a mixing bowl. Garnish with sesame seeds and fried garlic chips.
