Inside an alleged immigration scheme to exploit foreign workers - The Fifth Estate

The Fifth Estate

A pitch to turn P.E.I. and New Brunswick into applegrowing capitals, with support from industry leaders and three premiers, was an easy sell to investors and wouldbe workers. Those who bought in found themselves in an alleged immigration scheme. The Fifth Estate’s Steven D’Souza investigates how foreign workers who were desperate for a better life were allegedly charged illegal fees for work permits.
