Hello everyone! In today's video I'll show you a few techniques I used to teach our basenji dog Feenix how to sing, baroo, howl! When we got him he was very silent and wasn't expressing any sounds at all. I always loved hearing the sound basenjis make when they yodel.

First of all, I always had Feenix's favorite snacks to treat him and get him excited. We tried playing different musical instruments, letting him hear sirens as well as other dogs' howling noises. We kept our phones near by at all times to be ready to record any noise Feenix made.

One day I had treats in my hand and Feenix really wanted to eat them .So I kept imitating dog's singing and he just started repeating after me. As soon as he did I started giving him little pieces of food and kept encouraging him. I filmed the whole process.
We collected several videos of Feenix making baroo and yodeling sounds and saved them in the highlights of our dogs' Basenji_feenix_arizona IG page.
