Welcome ladies and gentlemen, my name is
Allen with the contractor license school
and this is a video on how to get a c20
HVAC license which is basically your
heating ventilating and air conditioning in
seven easy steps.
So the first thing is experience.
It takes four years of experience.
So if you have four years, you've been working for a company, you're
ready to go.
Now part of that experience, you're going to need to know some things
like evaluating design and estimation, you're going to need to know
fabrication installation and startup.
Especially things like duct system fabrication,
equipment installation, electrical, mechanical. some plumbing,
some air distribution, ca, and system startup.
Those kinds of things, but if you've been doing this for years, you got
that down.
Now the other thing is, is you're going
to need to get and pass the twostate
exams, three and a half hours for each
state exam.
So I recommend that you get prepared for that.
Now you can do that by attending our school
and or jumping into our online program.
We're the contractor licensed school.
So we help you through that process.
The third thing is, is you got to fill out
the application to the state.
Now that application can be difficult
and quite challenging.
That's at least what we've heard from
many contractors.
But we don't want you to think about that, we're going to help
you through that process.
We're going to make that as easy as possible.
What you need to focus on is studying
our material, getting through our program, passing our
tests.
Because if you pass ours, we're guaranteeing you're going to pass the
state exam.
Basically, we're going to help you
out by making sure the application is done right.
The fourth thing you need to do is, pass
the state exams,
Once that application gets there
to the state, you're going to get in a
few weeks a letter that tells you "hey you need to
be at this time at this place
at the state testing facility."
And you're gonna again be there all day to pass
those exams.
Number five you need to get a surety bond and surety bond is for fifteen
thousand dollars.
And what that is is it costs you about a hundred dollars for the year.
It protects the client of any kind of
contractor damage or anything like that.
But you actually can't get your
contractor's license until you get that.
Number six, you're going to have to get a live scan, that's
fingerprinting.
Now once you pass your state exams,
they're going to give you a pamphlet
that shows you where you can go and get that.
But just so you know, you can get it at any
sheriff's office also any ups store.
And the beautiful thing about that is once they
fingerprint you, they're going to send all that paperwork
off to the California state licensing
board.
So you don't have to worry about
anything or think about that.
And finally number seven.
Which is, I believe, the most important because of how
many of you know there are a lot of
dreamers in the world, a lot of people
think about things they
potentially want to do, in the future, but
that' person that really moves
towards success is that person who takes
that first initial step.
So make it happen. Do it.
