Hi ladies and gentlemen my name is Allen
with the contractor license school.
And today I'm here to go over the seven easy steps on how
to get a c33 painting and home decoration
construction license.
So in these seven easy steps, the first
one is this, experience.
You need to have four years of
experience within the trade.
And next, experience is going to be things like,
planning and estimating, or
substrate repair and surface
preparation application of paint and or other
finishes and finally safety things for more
details on that you can reach out to us
and we'll get you that list of what they're going to want to know.
The second thing is this, you have to
become a part of some kind of contractor
license school or obtain some kind of construction prep course.
Now we do all those.
We have three options for you.
We have our brick and mortar school.
Now our brick and mortar schools where
you can come in you're being taught by a
teacher, you're in a classroom with other
students, you can hear the different
questions and collaboration.
Which is really good.
The second one is this, it's our live stream.
So we broadcast every class.
We broadcast weekly to any of your devices so you can be
home.
It saves you a little bit of money.
You have the teacher in front of you
teaching you.
You can see the PowerPoint.
You can hear the other students.
You can ask questions back and forth.
So it's just like being in life school
except you save a few bucks.
The third option is this our homeschool program.
Maybe you just decide you know what I
just want to get the materials.
I just want to watch the videos.
I just want to go at my own pace.
You can do that.
And all those options are on our website.
By the way, the third thing you're going to need
is, you're going to have to take and fill
out the application.
Now one of the things that we've heard from
many contractors is that applications a
little bit daunting and challenging.
But we want to make it easy for you all.
What we want you to do is focus on studying our materials and
passing our tests.
We're going to help you fill
out that application, we've been doing
this a long time.
We want to make sure all the I's are dotted and t's are
crossed so that it passes through with the with
with as little potential problems as possible.
Now the fourth thing is this,
you have to pass the state exams.
So once we send out the application, they approve
it, they give you a test date, you have to
show up at that location
on that date to the state testing
facility.
You're going to be there roughly about eight hours, because it's
three and a half hours for the law exam
and three and a half hours for the trade exam.
Once you pass those, then you go on
to the next phase which is phase five.
You get your surety bond.
Now the surety bond is a piece of
insurance that protects your client
it protects them for fifteen thousand
dollars and that's going to cost
you roughly one hundred dollars for the year.
Now sixth is you go get a live scan.
You can do that at any ups store
and or sheriff's office.
Pretty simple, get your fingerprints, they send it off
to the California state licensing board
and you are done.
Now the next step, the seventh step, I believe, is the most
important.
You know there are a lot of whatifs
in the world.
What if one day I get a bunch of money and I can go start this
business or what if I get this and then I can
just start that new invention or what if I can do all
these things.
You know what put aside all the whatifs and let's just make it
happen.
So that seventh step is making it happen.
