Some of the most valuable crystal gemstones are found in pegmatite deposits. In this video I will show you how amazingly beautiful the crystals are and how crazy expensive and valuable they are. They really are worth prospecting for and going after. Pegmatites originate from the final residual materials left from cooling magma. The final stages of igneous rock crystallization are sometimes rich in volatiles like water and various rare elements, which gives rise to the distinctive mineral content, gems and large crystal features of pegmatite formations. You might think that pegmatites are relatively rare, yet they are widely scattered in the earth's crust and can be locally abundant. There are a lot of undocumented or poorly documented pegmatite areas. There are loads of locations where you might productively search for pegmatite gems.
