How do I settle my original creditor collection lawsuit on my own?

We are not talking about when a debt collector sues you instead we are talking about when Capital One or American Express or Discover Bank, etc. sue you.

I can't give specific advice since I don't know what your unique case is, however, I can give you some general thoughts on how you typically do it.

First of all, you have to figure out how much you're willing to pay.

You can do this in a lump sum, which is where you pay all at once, or you can decide on a payment plan with the collection agency.

Generally, a lump sum is much cheaper than a monthly payment plan,

Second, you work out an agreement with the collection lawyer.

You also have to get this agreement in writing.

It's not that collection lawyers (at least the ones we deal with) are deceptive, it's just that sometimes there's miscommunication.

Figure out how you're paying them, and what they agree to do once you've paid them.

Do all of this before you settle.

Then you execute what you get in writing.

Make sure they hold up their end of the bargain.

Check your credit reports.

If it's not accurate, take action.

Hope this is helpful to you!
