A hip labrum tear is an injury to the stabilizing cartilage of the hip joint. It can be a very painful injury, as well as a painless injury.

It’s officially diagnosed by your doctor with an MRI or an MRA. But it’s possible to tell if you’ve likely got a torn labrum in your hip if you have all the common signs and symptoms discussed in this video.

Hip labrum tears are the #1 hip injury that sets up hip arthritis so it’s critically important to get the pain under control and keep the tear from getting worse.
Most patients are given pain medications and injections in their hip before going to surgery. Sometimes they will attempt physical therapy treatment before surgery.
