Its a great day today as we can welcome YOU to TAIWAN. Our adventure starts in Zhongli, on a delightful weather morning walk, the streets are just blooming with smells of tasty street food.

Walking by this same shop yesterday, I had a great feeling, I marked it on the map. Returning bright and early, these 50 year old recipes are just perfect for our introduction into the BEST FOODS FOR BREAKFAST for anyone's first day in Taiwan.

The owner is such a cool older man, working in this same shophouse location long enough to even see his grandson helping to take orders, and after giving us a quick tour of the menu we are ready to put in our first order!

Taiwanese bigcity breakfast will traditionally include a basic combination of fried dough, savory rolled or folded cakes, possibly some noodles (or dumplings), with homemade soymilk to drink. We add on several fried vegetables and some interesting looking meat selections, and finally decide on a bonus round of steamed dumplings, ordering sort of a familysized meal (for the two of us) to really make the most of our first big meal in Taiwan.

Again, it is so great to be here, and I hope you are looking forward to enjoying many more videos learning about the wonderful island of Taiwan! This place has an incredible amount of human diversity living in a rich, gorgeous natural setting, I am looking forward very much to putting together all these videos as well.
