I tried to get Indigo to take a new flavored tablet but all she wanted was to scent roll in it. Also, our house is a mess. We have an indoor wolfdog in a tiny home. Deal with it.

Indigo is a low content wolfdog whom we rescued one year ago after she was hit by a car and left without veterinary care. In this video she is scent rolling. Scent rolling is a behavior that can be observed in all canines, but wolves and wolfdogs do it on a very regular basis. The exact reason behind scent rolling isn't known with certainty. Generally it is accepted as a way to "take" new and interesting scents with an animal. Some theories suggest that scent rolling is used to share the scent with other pack members ("hey smell this cool new thing!"), to mark ownership by putting their own scent on it, or just because they enjoy the scent and want to smell it later. Whatever the reason is behind the behavior, it's cute as heck.
