Background

Early November 2013 my cat came down with Vestibular Disease and it developed into full blown FVS. I made this as an awareness video about what the condition looks like. Cats with this disease can heal with time. For some the recovery is quick, (23 days) while others it can take up to 3 weeks or more. Ben needs much care but has shown some improvement while on transition to a wet food diet with cat supplements. He has also retained some secondary conditions from the FVS.

Update Feb2015: Thank you everyone for your feedback and prayers. Ben is finally recovered and we believe this is as normal as he will get. I will be posting an update video soon on his recovery. :D

What we did: The Vet docs had no idea what was wrong with him but we got her to do a bacterial swab at his inner ear since we thought is was vestibular and it turned out that Ben had a bad ear infection that was causing his vestibular and we believe he caught it from contaminated food? He was on Canyon Creek catfood which was discontinued, and MeowMix right before he got sick. And he seemed to get worse from the chicken flavor so we changed his diet to a minimum ingredient cat food/occasional freezedried raw meat like duck or salmon and Thanks to another youtuber, got him on some powerful antibiotics called Clavamox. Then he Finally started showing improvement little by little. Week after week he improved more and after three months on antibiotics, he recovered. He still has a minor head tilt that's slowly going away and I think he still has dizzy spells when he will lay down and get that familiar sad daze in his eyes but other than that, He runs, jumps, plays, talks, cleans, and purrs again! Oh how did I miss his purring =^_^= So he's basically back to his old self. I would recommend anyone who has a cat suffering from this to not give up on them, change to a healthy diet and good antibiotics could be the cure! God Bless!
