Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller on our 2024 Ram 1500. Now this is gonna be a really easy way if you don't have a factory brake controller, to add one to your Ram so you can start towing a trailer with brakes. Let's check it out. Now the way this works is the brake controller will plug into your seven pole, and the trailer will plug into the end of the brake controller, and then this will pair up using Bluetooth to the app on your phone where you can control settings and have your manual override.

So in the cab of the truck, I can do things like press the manual override button in the middle, or adjust things like the maximum power output down in the bottom there, or right next to it, adjust the overall sensitivity of our braking. Now this is gonna be a proportional brake controller, so if I just lightly tap on the brakes, you'll see the read out here. It's just lightly applying the brakes to our trailer, whereas if I we inchesre to suddenly slam on the brakes, it'll match that proportionally on our trailer. So this is gonna give you a much better ride quality because the trailer is matching what you're doing. Now, obviously we're in the shop right now, but we have this hooked up to our trailer simulator box, and what that'll do is when I press this manual override button, you can see the electric signal getting sent back and actually get a visual indicator of brakes being applied.

This will work with up to two axles and work for electric or electric over hydraulic brakes. The big thing to keep in mind here is that this is for convenience. There's really no install process, and the only thing you have to do is just sink it to your phone, which is really straightforward. So if you're not someone that tows a trailer all the time, then this might be a good solution for you 'cause it's easy to break out and set up when you need it, and when you don't need it, it's not on your truck, there's nothing installed permanently and it can just sit waiting, ready to go. But if you're towing all the time or you're just not super fond of using your smartphone to control all the settings on your brake controller or have that manual override, then that's okay.

There are more permanent options available here at etrailer that you can find, but I think it really just comes down to how you're using it. If you are looking for that easy to set up solution that doesn't have to be here all the time, then I think the Curt Echo for your 2024 RAM 1500 could be a good fit for you. Thanks for watching.
