Deity D4 Duo Mic: The Good the Bad and the Harsh

Follow
Marcus Hutsell

The Deity D4 Duo is a decent mic for under $70. I like the option of having the rear mic to pick up my voice when I am behind the camera.

I think the sound quality is "ok," and if fairly harsh (front capsule), but sounds better in outdoor environments.

It still has very little competition in terms of a dual front/rear mic option for DSLR and Mirrorless cameras, I do wish it sounded less harsh, but, it's the mic I keep in my bag for the functionality.
