Dave Myers, the chef for Hairy Bikers, passed away at the age of 66.
In May of 2022, a television personality made the announcement that he was undergoing treatment for cancer.

According to the announcement made by his costar, Si King, the television chef Dave Myers, who was best known for being one half of the Hairy Bikers, passed away at the age of 66 due to cancer.

The motorcycleriding cooking duet that Myers and King, his friend of thirty years, became famous with brought Myers a great deal of celebrity. His participation in Strictly Come Dancing in 2013, in which he was partnered with Karen Hauer and reached week seven of the BBC competition, brought him to the attention of new potential followers.

In the statement that King issued, he remarked, "I'm afraid I have some sad news to share." The most of you are probably aware that Dave has been battling cancer for the aforementioned couple of years. Yesterday evening, on February 28th, 2024, Dave died away in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his wife, Lili, his family, his close friend David, and myself.Dave's passing has left everyone who knew him in utter disbelief. Not only did his cherished wife bring him a great deal of joy, but so did her children, Iza and Sergiu, whom Dave cherished as if they were his own.

Personally, I am not sure if I am able to adequately express how I am feeling at this very time. My closest friend is now on a trip that I am unable to accompany at this time. Every single day, I shall miss him, as well as the connection and companionship that we shared for more than half a lifetime. I hope that you have a speedy journey, brother; you are and will continue to be a shining example in this world. We will meet again on the other side. "I love you."

Myers, who was born in BarrowinFurness, Cumbria, made the announcement in May 2022 that he was undergoing treatment for cancer. He did not provide any specifics regarding the sort of cancer that he had been diagnosed with, stating to the Guardian that this was due to the fact that "everyone then starts Googling, everybody forms an amateur doctor... In addition, I do not wish to be evaluated. This month marked the beginning of the presenter's most recent series on BBC Two, which is titled The Hairy Bikers Go West. "Magical" is the word that has been used to describe the show, which is the first one that has been produced after Myers was diagnosed with cancer. The show takes place throughout the west coast of Britain, from Scotland to Devon. It was considered as signaling a more emotional and touching direction to Myers and King's programs, which were distinguished by a rising openness and increasingly poignant reflections on the value of appreciating life's joys. This was aired in conjunction with a holiday special called The Hairy Bikers: Coming Home for Christmas.

Myers stated that it was "a dream come true" to be back on his motorcycle during the first episode. He stated that he "wasn't sure I'd ever get back in the saddle again" because he had been away for a long time.

"At one point in my life, I was unable to walk, I was unable to balance, and I never imagined that I would ever be able to ride a bicycle," he added.

Grace Dent, who works for The Guardian, paid respect to the broadcaster by saying, "He came to my house to do Comfort Eating, and it was just one of the highlights of my life." He was a great example of a gentleman and a man of great kindness. They were just so devastated to learn that he was ill because he was just a genuinely normal person who had no pretensions, and the industry, including the food world and the TV world, was just so devastated. I just have the impression that this is a very gloomy day for the food industry.

Among the other people who paid tribute to Myers was the presenter of Saturday Kitchen, Matt Tebbutt, who said on Instagram that Myers was "one of the good guys, seriously funny, genuinely nice, and always a joy to have him and Si on the show." Gethin Jones, the host of BBC Morning Live, made the following statement during the broadcast: "We've met the guy to a great extent." This is really a terrible tragedy; he was so kind and cheerful. "He was such a gorgeous human being," said Kym Marsh, who was an additional cohost for him.
