Were you wondering what a coyote bark/howl/yip sounds like? Well here it is! Some interesting coyote facts will pop up on your screen throughout the video to provide some education about these elusive animals. You will see a coyote pack roaming around in a field in New Mexico, barking and howling practically the entire video. There are some closeup shots of coyotes barking, laying down, running, and doing other coyote things.
Here are the interesting facts shared in the video:
Coyotes howl to communicate their location. They are related to wolves, dogs, and foxes and therefore share many of the same characteristics. They can be tan, grey or brown in color depending on what part of the world they live in. They are very smart and adaptable animals which is why their species has been able to adapt so well to urban development. They can now be found throughout most of North America and their populations are likely at all time highs. There have even been a rise in coyote sightings in major US cities such as New York and LA. Even though they have the ability to live in and around urban environments, they are rarely spotted because of how well they hide from predators and humans. This is a big reason they have been able to survive for so long. Although they are mostly solitary animals, they form packs when hunting large prey. They are mostly carnivorous and will eat just about any type of mammal.
