This American craft started with the native Americans who passed it onto the Colonists. Our Pioneering ancestors wasted little from their crops, using cornhusks for mattress stuffing, kindling and (most fun), Cornshuck Dollies

Recipe for Pumpkin/ Apple Soup
3 cups mashed pumpkin
2 cups chipped green apple
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup cream
4 cups broth
1 tbsp flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp each nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger
2 Tbsp Butter
optional/ add a mashed Sweet potato to thicken
salt and pepper
