Desert Waterfalls are alway a Rare and Breathtaking Spectacle although often those conditions result in difficult & Dangerous situations such as Flash Flooding and VERY Tough travel due to Deep Slippery Mud!
That's why Rim Rock Road is very special, it affords the casual visitor easy passage through Beautiful Rouged Desert Landscapes with Ease! My preferred method of travel is on bike where one can get a Solid Workout riding 33 Miles climbing over 3,000 vertical feet while circumnavigating the Park and seeing many of it's natural wonders!
For me, this ride started out as a simple means to get in a big low impact workout while avoiding the endless mud covered & snowy miles of World Class Mountain Biking abounding the area. The ride turned out to be an amazing journey through countless incredible scenes. It was so cool I called my wife and encouraged her and our best buddy to come up and enjoy this rare moment! It only got better from there as we found the Biggest Waterfall of all from the Coke Oven Overlook peering down onto the Upper Liberty Cap Trail and its path right across the top of a huge waterfall!
Please note, this was a special and rare moment for the desert which is most often totally parched hot and dry. If one is lucky enough to be around right after a big spring rain, especially around sunset, you are in for a real treat! Especially on bike where taking in all the views and letting the sounds of the falls direct your gaze makes finding them easy! Also note, our trip included many snowy, wet, and muddy trails. . .
