RagaMuffins, a Ragdoll, couple of Siberians and a Turkish Angora in alter/premier class judging at the 2018 CFA International Cat Show held in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.

The judge is Rachel Anger.

Rachel mentions Color Divisions in the vid. As I understand it Color Divisions were introduced to Persians, and only Persians, because there were so many Persians at shows that they constituted about half the entries and a way was sought to break down this host into more manageable numbers to judge. Color Divisions was the solution however this did bestow an additional benefit for Persian in that instead of one Best of Breed win they now had the equivalent for each color class. Exhibitor of other breeds are of course aware of this. However, from what I've seen of numbers of cats, most breeds still have only a few representatives at each show, and even the breeds which usually have more than a few, Maine Coons etc, don't have the numbers that Persians had in the past, so I don't think there's really a need. This is also now true of Persians themselves but tradition...

Given my current color woes, having recorded this show in what's called log grade, and the problems I've noted that created I had this brilliant idea to use PhotoShop to do the initial color correction 'cause I've been doing this with some old photos that had substantially degraded colorwise and it was working quite well (in areas of the photos, anyway). Trying this idea for vids, turns out I'm just recreating the starting point I'd already accomplished, so no real benefit to be had. So much for that brilliant idea...

And speaking of the process, on my 3rd upload of this vid to YouTube, their encoder heavily pixelated some effects like titles. Reuploading fixed that.

As a final bit of fun, I use a Premiere Pro plugin called Mercalli to smooth video and it has this "feature" of displaying their logo on the vid to remind one to reauthorize the plugin every so often. I've complained to the company about this "feature" and they said "it is what it is" sort thing so, as a bit of an Easter Egg to myself, I've left that in rather than reuplolad this vid yet again... it's not disruptive at all, and I'm finding it kinda amusing.
