Apparently there's an island in Shanghai that is called "Cat island" and there are more than a hundreds of cats living together.
The island is free of charge but you need to register in advance.

How to register:
Use WeChat app to search for one of these official accounts 宠物蕃 (chôngwùfān) or 阿拉宠公益平台. These two official pages occasionally post weekend activities. You just need to find the activity, scan the QR code and register.
If you're struggling with Chinese let your Chinese friend or a colleague help you. The page doesn't have an English version.

It's quite far so you must drive there or take a taxi to go!
