The biggest name in drag racing history responds to my request during his museum tour. Great individuals who leave a mark in history are mentally condition to grind, and do not hear the nay sayers. Usually, these great individuals show from a very young age what they are made out of.
At the tender age of 2 years old, his father asked him to move a truck load of used bricks with his little red wagon. At the time he did not think his father was a "tyrant", instead he did not like the fact that his mom was crying "The Baby cannot carry the bricks". He never saw himself as a baby. The same way he does not see himself as an old man, today at 92 years of age. Back in 1934 was building character, today it is called child abuse.
