Follow
Dr David Oehme

Most disc herniations can be managed without surgery. When symptoms fail to improve with non operative interventions, sometimes surgery is required. Lumbar spinal disc prolapses, or herniations, are treated surgically usually by performing an operation called a microdiscectomy. In this video, I explain in detail what happens during the microdiscectomy procedure to treat a lumbar disc herniation causing sciatica.
